Default Tee handle

The vibration noise from the shifter dissappeared when I put the big old Hurst "T" handle on. I got mine off eBay, but I see them at Pep Boys all the time. They do not fit when purchased you have to get a 33/64 drill and open up the base, then use a 9/16 18 tap to rethred the hole. It took me 15 mins to do and included opening a beer. It seems the mass of the **** cancels the humming right out. Besides which this is the type of shift **** that was on my first Vette

I have a Hurst shifter and I have been using a stock **** wrapped in Electron Blue from Ken King. I can't get the **** to stop making noise. I've wrapped teflon tape around the threads but on heavy accelaration it rattles like crazy. I know it is the **** because I ran it with just the shifter stalk and is was perfectly quiet. Any way to get it quiet using the stock ****? Otherwise what **** works well with the Hurst.

I got a MGW T-handle that they came out with recently and made all the diff in the world on my hurst and it is machined to fit perfectly, not sure it looks as good as the good old hurst T however.
