[Z06] Small break in plastic side-window 'frame'

Small break in plastic side-window 'frame'
On the z06, the plastic pieces that border the top of the side-windows from the bottom of the windshield to the back of the glass where it's joined with the 2nd piece that goes straight down...
Both of these pieces have developed a crack that started at the top edge and worked its way down towards the glass until the visible part of the piece is 'split' it's entire width. (Did that make sense?) The split on both sides is right at the joint between the windshield glass and the roof.
Anyone else seen this? Or heard any reasons why it happens?

There are others here with the same problem. It appears to be just poor craftmanship of the parts since it has not occurred on most cars. Warranty repair item.
