OK, so my boss who owns a red Z06 is leaving and our group decides to buy him a farewell gift. Noting that he owns a red Z06 we decide to get him a diecast of the same car. I look on-line and find one made by Maisto available for immediate shipment from DieCastFast.com. I order and get a confirmation email that it will go out "today" 05/25/2003. 10 days later it is still a no-show and the clock is ticking. I send them an email and here is the reply I get: "I am extremely sorry to say that my helpers had not
informed me that this was not sent out. Apparently we
are backordered on the Maisto Z06 Red. We do have
black or yellow in Maisto, or if you are set on red
I'd be happy to send you the AUTOart model which is
about twice the price. I can have it out today"

Life really hits you with some nasty suprises some times, even folks who own companys get hit with nasty suprises. Is it not amazing how time and time again we are reminder that to errr is human, some times by others mistakes sometimes by our own. Now you have to make a choice and get on with living, allowing others to prove they are human by screwing up, what else can you do?

I would just give him a picture from a magazine at the party and mail him the model when it comes! It's the thought that counts. It's hard to plan gifts on a short notice.
