Default Floor Jacks/Lifts ... Help

I want to start doing my own work on the Z and was wondering what peoples preferences are for lifting this car. Hydraulic floor jacks and jacks stands seem fairly straight forward (brand preferences?) but I was surprised to find while surfing that whole car lifts aren't horribly expensive. Does anyone use these lifts on their vettes? I came across one cool looking portable lift by Bend-Pak http://www.asedeals.com/low_rise_lifts.html. Is a 29" lift suitable for most maintainence operations?

Any opinions and suggestions would be appreciated.

Rotary makes a nice one also. I saw it used at a Viper Days event.

At the low end of the price scale, check out KwikLift. http://www.kwiklift.com

Nice... Wonder if anyone has used it on a Vette?

Dunno, the only thing that troubles me is that it has a 4" lowered height. I've got just over 5" from the bottom of the door panel to garage floor, but if I decide to lower my car, plus room taken by jacking pucks ...

I wouldn't buy any of those magazine/car show lifts (flame suit on). They appear to be cheaply made. We use nothing but Benwill and Rotary lifts. A little more money, but well worth it- especially when you're under a 3400 pound car.

3X2 is exactly right.rotary is top of the line.most other companies say "ours is just as good as a rotary."that says alot.another consideration is who is going to repair an off brand lift.

Hell, I use my own home made wood ramps and my Craftsman hydraulic jack and Craftsman 3 ton stands. Total cost = $150!
