Port matching for large t/b???
I noticed that the 80mm BBK has an adapter plate that decreases in size from the t/b to the intake. My question is would it be possile to omit the plate and "port match" the intake to the t/b??? :smash: and if so, would it yeild anything over the standard plate design? :confused::confused:
Its my understanding the larger t/b is good for atleast 8hp on H/C cars. Im taking my ZO6 to MTI next month for a H/C package and am wondering if a matched t/b would help even just a little. :crazy:

I did the BBK TB mod and checked into the porting. I got 5 HP off idle up a 7 HP peak at 6100 RPM.
The composite manifold can't be opened up to the TB bore diameter without exposing the rubber seal around the intake opening.
There are aftermarket aluminum intakes that can be machined to match (and polished).
The adapter plate will increase velocity and keep vacuum high for driveability.
Many I've talked to only recommend a bigger intake opening when increasing displacement and/or major head porting.
I've found it much harder to get extra HP on an '03 then it was on the '01 Z06.
I lost HP with 2 different headers and engine programming.
I think heads and cam would definitely be a big increase in HP and flow and would benefit from a ported (and polished) aluminum intake.
I highly recommend the SVO 30# injectors. They are more robust, quieter and fit just like the stock injectors.
You have to spray more fuel if you're gonna flow more air...
