I just picked up a brand new 2003 Z06 yesterday, 20 miles on the odo when I drove it out. The odd thing about this car is that the last 5 of the VIN is 08249. Given that, I can estimate the production date as being in October of 2002, which means this car has been sitting at a dealer somehwere for the last 8 months. Base MSRP before options was $50,485. Looking at my Corvette black book, it shows that the base MSRP should be $51,155. This version of the book was published in October, 2002, the same time the car was produced. Just wondering what base MSRP was on other early production Z06's and how many price increases there have been for the 2003 model year.
My '03 Z was built 11/21/02, VIN 114794, and base price was $51,135. I don't know how many price increases there were for the year, but I would imagine it was 2-4.
I'm 5108785. Produced 9/23/02. 03 EB Z06. I believe the MSRP increased 11/1/02,but wasn't aware of an increase since then. Want to say it was close to 51k then.
"General Motors has raised prices on most vehicles six times since the start of the 2003 model year last fall, while Ford Motor and Chrysler Group have increased prices eight times, according to data compiled by Edmunds.com". I priced the car in Dec (02), Mar, and bought it in April. Each time the price had increased.
