Default driving modes

Having owned my Z for several months now, and having explored the cars limits in various driving conditions, I am wondering why Chev chose to turn both driving aids off (TC and AH) by default (with one touch of TC button), and not put the car in Comp Mode by default. I do not claim to be the best driver in the world, not even a great one, and consequently I am more comfortable in Comp Mode than with everything turned off. I have played around in Comp Mode quite a bit, and the AH system is pretty darn good IMHO. I am sure plenty of you have come across situations where you want to quickly go into Comp Mode, rather than wait the eternal 5 seconds (like at a set of lights). Why make it easy for people to put themselves in potentially bad situations?

Just my opinion, and maybe worthy of discussion.

Why....because the car was designed with street driving in mind. That is its primary purpose, even though owners (myself included), think differently.

That is a good question. I drive in comp mode all the time in both Vettes, unless it is raining (in which I rarely drive the Vettes). Makes you wonder. :skep:
