Yeah, I had the urge to gas it in neutral at the red light when I was next to a convertible. The driver was checking out the Z06 405 HP insignia on the side of my car. But didn't know if that was a cool thing to do, so I didn't. I guess Corvettes do not challenge or show off to other Corvettes.

I remember back in the seventies, I was 19 with my '68 vert, I couldn't get over it either at the time. Somethings never change!

How did you like that '68? Was it a 427? Boy would you get a lot of waves today!

I have seen on occasion a corvette parked in a parking lot at a store or mall taking up TWO parking spaces to avoid getting door dings. Is this bad corvette etiquette especially if it is close to the entrance to the store? Does this invite idiots to start trouble and vandalize the car? Is it even proper corvette etiquette to EVER take up TWO parking spaces even if it is far away from the store entrance? I would like to take up two spaces but away from the entrance but if this is still "uncorvettish" then I would proabably not!

Is it against proper Corvette Etiquette to rev your engine up next to another Corvette at a red light? Would this be considered disrespectful? Do Corvettes challenge each other to duels or is this rude and simply uncalled for? Just wondering!
Just my opinion, but yes I think it is "unfriendly" in most circumstances to rev the motor or otherwise challenge a fellow corvette driver. I've had a couple of instances where another corvette and I tag-teamed a cobra and a TA at the redlight...

Thanks for your input! I figured that this may not be proper etiquette to challenge another fellow corvette to a duel! I do like the tag team story though!!!!!

I think that it is poor etiquette for ANY car to take up 2 parking spaces :nono:. It's basically like saying, "I think I'm better than everybody else in the world who only takes up 1 space to park", and I believe it does encourage vandals to mess with your car. There are plenty of other options to protect your car from door dings: park in BFE and walk, find end spaces and leave plenty of distance from the other parking space, don't drive to crowded stores, etc.

EXACTLY!!!! I just saw a Porsche take up two spots at the mall today. They were not far from the entrance either! That is so obnoxious. I have been parking in "BFE" and taking the walk. I usually park on an end spot close to the curb. I think that I will continue to do this. Taking up two spots would attract attention. But I have seen several corvettes do this. Not good etiquette!

Funny. It should work that way.

* yes, but just remember that 911 and M3 owners get the "chin swipe" or middle finger.

I love the A- holes in the big 4-by trucks that don`t even try to park in a space. Just take up 4 spaces. Says "I`m a BAD AZZ in my BAD AZZ truck!

I've found that Albuquerque area Corvette drivers almost always wave to each other, but especially C5 owners! I guess we appreciate our C5's more than those other folks!
