I just had a birthday and decided to get my dream car. This thing is a rocket. I do have a few problems that I would like to ask the forum though. I'm hearing a crunching sound when I turn at low speeds and theres a shuffling noise coming from the shifter. Other than that, this is an awesome ride and there is a big difference in quality, performance and handling then my last car, a 97' Z28.
Welcome! The posters on this forum really know their stuff. I have learned a lot about the Z06 from them. Where else could we find the info that is presented here?
Congratz  :flag :flag :flag
I did have a noise coming from my brakes. Still hear it from time to time. It was enough to ask the dealer to check it out. I can hear the brakes squeak when stopping. The dealer told me that the brakes have a lot of metal and will tend to do that. Do other Z06 drivers hear this squeaking of brakes?
Welcome! Yes, WE know that the Z06 is a ROCKET! AND it handles beautifully to boot! Just wait until you really get to put her through some curves...............
One question back to you...Is it a Brand New car?

Yes. Just passed the 1,500 mile mark and the breaks are still squeaking a lot at low speed stops.

Welcome to the forum!
Glad to have you aboard.
Good to see some of the younger generation understands what a performance car is, not some Rice car with $50G's of mods.
Oh, just don't defile that beutiful automobile with some stupid butt wing..... j/k :jester
Welcome to the forum, nice car and you picked the right color :)
The stock Z06 pads will make some noise, not all of them do it (mine doesn't) but I have seen many posts on the topic. As for the other noises I would say have the dealer take a ride. Or better yet hook up with some fellow Z06 enthusiasts in your area and have them listen to the car.
Address your noise concers AND brake noise concerns with the dealer. Have the writer take a short ride with you so that he can hear it and better define when the noise happens and where it is coming from. Sometimes the driving style of the driver plays an intergal part in noises and performance issues. The service Tech may test drive totaly different than you drive it and when you go to pick up your car you may find that they say "Could NOT duplicate the symptom" and I know that can be disheartening! :mad Been there! Done that! :skep:
Even if they can not find it, you have the problem on paper and if "say you" find out that you have a brake rotor or even a pad problem at 13,000 miles (past the 12,000 miles zone in which most dealers will take care of brake pad problems) , they will still be required to fix it under warrenty!
You lucky BUM! I wish I had a Corvette "ZO6" when I was 20!!!
Welcome to the forum and please, always feel free to ask for help and davice! :seeya
