IMO Chev should have implemented the TC/AH options differently....
default/engine startup --- both systems on (they won't change this)
single press of AH button --- Comp Mode
press and hold 5 secs --- both systems off
I know it's only 5 seconds, but Why make it so easy to turn everything off?
:iagree: Several Forum members have discovered that turning off active handling is not a good idea - it's there to help in emergency situations in particular.

There is a device sold by some of the sponsors that will allow you to have the car turn on competition mode every time, or turn of AH every time, etc. It's like $150 if I remember.
That feature as well as the traction control is the biggest POS ever.
So far it has done nothgin but almost run me into a ditch, and cause me to hit a curb.
I got into 2 situations, where i needed the car to loose traction, once to avoid a collision, and the other time to make an abrupt maneuver.
Both times, I had forgotten to turn the trac control off ( as i usually do every time i sit in the seat)
I wacked the throttle and expected the car to react.... both times it killed power and got me 1/2 sideways.... to far to get it back straight, and not far enough to make the car go where i wanted..... in no-mans land.
one word JUNK!
SOME ONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO DISABLE BOTH OF THESE FEATURES FOREVER!
No one can tell me these modes make you a better driver. It interferes with every natural cause and effect reaction that you as a driver will ever encounter. It is a crutch that will never make the owner of the car a better driver. down with competition mode and down with traction control.
Tru it is used by formula one, but thats like comparing training wheels to a laser guided missle.
I am getting my car edited. They are going to edit out the shift lock feature on my car. I can't stand that either. I will ask the guy if he would be able to edit the Traction Control feature. If so I will give you more info! Take care!

Of course you can turn the HUD completely off. And by, 'shift lock feature' are you referring to the first to fourth shift Computer Assisted Gear shift (CAGS)? I'll be interested to learn if that can be edited. A lot of us bought the inexpensive CAGS defeat unit, really easy to install once you get the back end of the car up. I simply used two ramps and drove up backwards. Installation took all of 4-5 minutes. Let us know how it turns out. Thanks. :yesnod:
