I have only had the problem happen twice myself, and it was after the car had sat for a few weeks then I started it up. I have not had it happen since, and my battery volts are normal. How ever I am upgrading to a Red Top Optima, and I am curious to see if the car sits for the same period of time, if it will give the same message with the new battery.
I had all kinds of problems with my Camaro sitting for weeks without a start until I switched it to the red optima battery. Now I can leave it sit for over a month without any problems.

Now the dealer did tell me that if it sits around for weeks then it is possible to get the message to show up on the DIC.
However, if you are using the Z06 as a daily driver you should not be seeing the message under any circumstances and that it should be looked at.
