When i turn right into a driveway i can feel a clunk in the back somewhere behind the seat.possibly in the rear driverside susp. no one can find the problem has anyone hade this same problem?????
Welcome to the 'Clunking Club'! Mine does the same thing. Had it in the dealer 3 times and they haven't figured it out. I moved the seat back forward and haven't heard it since. It must be the 'oil can' theory.
Anyone ever notice if this happens more when you are low on gas? I seem to get the "pa-dunk-ka-dunk" sound behind my drivers seat when I lean back on the seat AND I'm low on gas. Always seems to go away after I fill the car up with gas, but who knows... could just be me not paying enough attention - too busy shifting gears! haha Doesn't bother me really... just notice it.
BlackVette is right. Do a search for "thud" within the last month. There were two detailed threads about this. I personally believe that the "thud" is caused either by "oil canning" of the materials right behind the seat or the gas tank. Just MHO. Either way, this seems to be a common problem. Although it's a bit annoying, I don't think it's cause for alarm. Good luck.
I have the 'clunk' on the '03 Z06, not everyday, but frequently enough that I have had the thing up on jack stands and have inspected all of the rear end components. I am of the opinion that it is not the suspension or drive line components. I do not know what causes it. Maybe the 'oil canning' of panels behind the seats or fuel tanks... Of interest I have never had this 'clunk' on the Y2K roadster.
