Eventually i will probably get the Mod itch. ( im starting already with the toy in hibernation). Just curious as to how many Z06 owners would seriously never consider modifying their Vette under any circumstanses. If so please explain. What is your Vette ? Bone Stock forever, in Mod fever , or a Mod waiting to happen. Thanks and be gentle. :steering:  :flag
:iagree: I started with the intention of keeping the car as stock as possible. Maybe a few minor mods. I already have a car that went way beyond mod fever. Last week I contacted a buddy of mine to discuss twin turbos, suspension, etc. Looks like I'm getting sick.
I guess we have a tendency to want to keep it totally stock like the big block '67 or '63 split window Z06 coupe we secretly wish to find in a barn unmolested with low mileage on the clock. But then you come to the realization that it should be driven and enjoyed. I, too, wished to keep it completely stock but then the CAGS just simply HAD to go. That opened the door to wanting the ram air. And just recently ordered Stingers. I just keep all the original parts so that the car can be put back to stock easily. Go for it, besides, the tweaks make it seem more personal.

Re: Bone Stock or Mods ? (JoeyNigs)
Hey Joe! I wanted to stay stock, but did a few minor mods (see my sig below) & got great results!! I'd recommend the Vararam myself w/ a LS1 Edit dyno tune. I could popo over to help w/ the VR install if you like! I'm in Anadale.
If they had one of those car shows where judges go through everything with a fine-tooth comb, rating a show car based on every nit-pickin' detail imaginable...
Any Corvette in the show that is completely "bone stock," just as it came off the showroom floor, should be severly penalized. All Corvettes are modified... it is simply a matter of how long you have one before you start.
My Z06 had mods on it before I even brought it home. This car is not an investment and I'll be long gone before it appreciates back to even MSRP levels so I say have fun and personalize it.
The Z is my second vette. I modded my 01 vert, with cold air, MAF, Long Tubes, T1 CAM and many others. It was a blast. This time, I bought the Z to spend 3 years a warranty free driving before the real
I have this funny principle: Stock Sucks  So, all my cars are/will be modified one way or another. Some of them may not be heavily modified, but they have modifications.
I just don't know how you cen keep these cars "stock". I tried and lasted a month. It starts off with something simple and easy like the crossed flag emblem on the steering wheel, then the front and rear letter kits and before you know it you have as many new parts on your C5 as is claimed for the C6.
That's what happened to me. I'm still modding and I'm thinking about selling and buying a 2004 Z06. I already have my list of mods lined up for the Z should I go that route.
Good luck trying to keep this thing "stock" I just don't think it can be done.
