I know many people suggest the kit from safety seal but, isn't there a NAPA vulcanizing tire plug gun kit that is really good. I'm kind of leaning towards a gun type kit. I think that would be easier to use. Any suggestions?
I've used 3 different types of "kits" and the best by far is Safety Seal. The quality of the tools used is very important (not just the plug) and Safety Seal's are the best. You don't want the tool used for inserting the plug to fold
up on you and theirs won't. Very stout stuff indeed. :yesnod:
NAPA Vulcanizing Kit Part # 710-1028 is THE way to go! I used them for years on race tires up to 210 MPH and never had a failure. I have also necer had a failure on street tires.
You can plug these tires. There's no blow out worries? :nonod:
Now..I am no tire expert here, but...I thought we were talking about plugging just to get you going again on the roadside in an emergency. God...I dread my first flat. :mad
I thought that once one of our speed rated tires was patched or plugged that it lost its speed rating  I was planning on just buying a new tire ASAP after the quick fix. Kinda figured it was just the cost of admission to 175 MPH car  :lurk:
I was told you can plug these tires once and keep the speed rating. Either way, I would only plug it to get home and them have the tire properly repaired or replaced.
I didn't realize we were talking roaadside fix either. I had a screw in my tire, just a slow leak. They patched it & said it had the same rating. I thought you may have to replace it as well...I'm sure glad not. :smash:

I was told that once the tire needed repairing that the rating was gone. I recently had a screw in mine which caused a real slow leak. It took a month to lose 3 lbs. Anyway, I had mine plugged and patched. The tire guys said it should hold up nicely.
