[Z06] tough choice

tough choice
When the Z16 Z06 was first unveiled I told myself I had to have one, well after the delays in production the C6 was unveiled before the CE Z06 hit the ground here. I decided that I would wait on the C6 since I had no idea when the CE would show up. To make a long story short, the CE is here and now I have to decide. They are willing to deal and will even swap the stingers from my 02 Z06. I told them I give them a answer Monday evening. One minute I know what I want to do, then the next minute I have changed my mind. :rolleyes:

Yes it would be cool to have a Z16, but what is the price diff in trade and how many miles are on your 02 Z06?
They claim that they will deal on the Z16, but in the end will they just give you less for your Z06 to make up the difference?
Unless they are really dealing on the Z16 the C6 will be less cash.

it is a tough choice.
the c6/z51 has some decent numbers that come very close to todays z06.
0-60 in 4.1 seconds (with the Z51)
1/4 mile in 12.6@114
Top speed of 186 MPH
a c6 vert with z51 certainly would be fun and hold me over until i hear the specifics of the c6/z06 and c6/blue devil.

To add more complexity to the issue ....
Trade in value on a C5 is gonna take a hit (even the Z06) once the C6 is available (GM is on schedule for selling the cars in August/Sept ... I'm not sure why you think there were "delays in production"). If you think you'll be trading again (maybe for a C6 Z06 when available in late 2005), I'd lean toward either getting the C6, or keeping my 02 and enjoying it until the next C6 Z06 is out. You've already taken the bulk of your depreciation in value on the 02, drive it like you stole it until the next Gen Z06 is out ...... :crazy:

On the plus side, at least you don't have to wait for the C6 Vetteless, you have a Z06 and '72 to tide you over. If you choose the Z16 you may get the itch to trade anyway for the C6. Then if you get the C6 you may later get the itch to trade for a C6 Z06! Decisions, decisions. Why not close your eyes and picture both the C6 and the Z16 sitting in your driveway. Then envision which one you want more to go to. That may be the answer. Whatever you decide will be a winner. :cheers:
