States That Require Front Plates. - Poll
I had my front plate on, No More the ZO6 be free, took it off, looks much better now. About you folks ?

Had it off, but then I got a couple of warnings, one in Houston and one here in Austin, so now I've got it on. I know it looks better without the front plate, but I don't need to be pulled over for any little reason.

I've NEVER put on a front plate on any of my cars. Funny you bring this poll up, on the way home yesterday from about a 28 mile drive i watched on coming traffic when i could (not driving the vette) but driving my pickup and i seen at least 40 cars of all types with NO front plates.
I think the cops pick on the sports cars more and leave the mom's carrying their kids alone.

Illinois requires both plates. So far 5 plus years on three different vette's and no tickets. Of course if you wanna play you gotta pay. I may change my tune after I get my first ticket.

We have a front plate law but I dont have mine on. I have not been bothered yet but I am sure its coming.

Here in the Republic of Kalifornication, we have the front plate law. Front plate is in the garage, car has never had it on. Will keep it off until enforcement becomes a real issue.

Depending on where Spring Valley is, it will probably be an up and coming issue shortly. I have only heard of 1 person being pulled over and cited for no front license plate recently in South Kalif, I have heard of several people that when pulled over for something else, and were not sporting a front plate, received a ticket for no front plate. And although it might still be a fix it ticket, I don't know, I think that fix it tickets can cost fees, and if not now, probably will in the near future. My guess is that in time even fix it tickets will be tracked and documented on computer, and there will be either no grace, or very little for second offenses of the same violation. You really don't believe that legislature in Kalif will let you just keep getting tickets for the same offenses without some retribution, do you? I know better. I have never sported a front license plate on any of my cars in about 30 years or so, but that is coming to a close shortly. I am not looking forward to seeing any of my cars wearing one of those damn things.

those cops should have more to worry about than if I have my front license plate on or not.

I have neither...still run the dealer paper in the back. Since they assume I haven't got plates yet, they don't look for the front either. :lol:

While that is true, it's also their job to enforce vehicle codes. If you don't like it, don't drive or contact your state officals to change the law.
I'm not going to stop driving just because I put my input in on a question asked. It was just a comment, I wasn't serious so take a :chill:

I have been warned and also ticketed in the past. Just put it on, it looks like crap but dont need the hassles. On road trips the plate stays home.

I never put one on my RX7 because I bought the car in FL and it never came with a bracket. It also looked like horrible crap because it was not designed to have one. I kept the plate behind the seat and I was never ticketed for it.
Now I am in VA and I have one because they are sticklers around here. However when I put it on I was quite pleased because I think the designers did a great job of integrating into the front end of the C5. Also my car is black so the bracket matched and everthing. I would rather have it off and think it looks better off but it is not worth the hassle around here. :banghead:
