Default Supercharger information

Hey guys,
I am thinking mods now for the Z and the first one (and most expensive  ) I am considering is a supercharger. I know a little about superchargers. I know the basic principles and how they work, but I was wondering if someone could give more info. More on how the vehicle acts after they have installed one, also what is the affect on gas mileage. Like I said any info would be great! Also any recommendations on where to get it done. Much appreciated :)

Can't comment on the performance with a super charger, but I am pretty sure you will kiss your waranty good bye.

There's a bunch of info to read up on over on the C5 Forced Induction forum. My own experience with the Magnuson Supercharger has been very positive. The car behave just as stock. If even handled last year's 100 degree heat with no complaints. Gas mileage is near the same, IF you can keep your foot out of it.

Twenty First Century Musclecars did mine, an offshoot of Lingenfelter. They know their stuff.

You'll love being boosted and the car will act normal untill you put your foot into it!
Gas mileage is not affected at all unless you put the pedal to the metal. :smash:
You have a few options as far as what system to go with.
1. Magnacharger
2. ATI
3. Vortec

They are all great systems, I chose the Mag. as it's very reliable and instant power. The two other systems will make more power but time to spool up.
The only drawback with the Mag. is you will have to change your hood for clearance reasons.

I always thought superchargers didn't have spool up lag. I thought that was with turbochargers, not superchargers.

So jay, how much did your magnacharger cost you with installation?
