Not rare, but probably not as common as pure black.....on Z06's anyway. I think the Mod Red interior rocks! All black looks like it means business, but it's also very drab in stock form.
Hello There, I guess I am one of the few who owns a black/torch red interior Z
I absolutely love the car!
I didn't even know they came with such interior until I stumbled upon a brochure. That's when I knew that it was the one I wanted!
I drove from San Diego to Vegas to find it. (like it's a bad thing!)
It is actually a petty intersting story.
Cheers
i have that blk/red int and i love it. i think it looks so much better. to answer your question i think it is kind of rare.. good luck on finding your car..
I obviously love it since I bought one with it. I would say it is somewhat rare but certainly not at a collectible level. I agree with Harlock that the mod red interior with black exterior is the  est looking. The first time I saw one in a mag, I knew that's what I had to have. Dealer only had red exterior with the mod red interior though, and I loved that too, so I ponied up
i remember the first time i saw a Z06 in the show room, it was a Torch Red with mod red interior... i thought that was one of the coolest cars ive seen in my life :)
Yup, I've got the Mod Red with the Mil. Yel. paint! I wanted the red interior because the all black just looked to plain. I waited for this color combination to get to my dealer and I went and bought it!
I think that the Yellow with the Mod Red is pretty rare. I looked all over the east coast for one before I bought mine and there weren't many of them. When a dealer had one, they wouldn't move much on the price either. I couldn't tell if it was because I was looking for that combination or if it wqas kind of rare but, they didn't want to move much on the prices. :steering:
It adds a nice splash of color... :D
I didn't know if I wanted the red interior, but as soon as I saw it in person, I was sold. This is what the stock mod red interior looks like:
I really REALLY wanted a ModRed interior, but couldn't find one. Its tough when you are trying to buy one and have a deadline with financing rates and rebates, etc. From a numbers standpoint, the ModReds are rare. Less than 2000 were made each year.
You can purchase some excellent interiors from Ken King (like others have said), or you can purchase the 8 ModRed interior parts from Fitchtner Chevy for about $1700 plus shipping.
So even if you don't find the interior you want on a used Z06, you can modify it later to suit your needs.
I have ot say, when I first saw the red/black combo, I wasn't into it.
I think it looks a bit much on red cars, but on the EB and MY, it looks great as to offset the body color.
I wouldn't mind finding a blue one like that, but otherwise, I'd most likely go all black inside.
Then again, that's why there's so many great aftermarket interior suppliers. You can get what you like. :)
