I've seen it done and I think it looks fine. I even saw one Z06 that the owner had the real Z06 brake ducts molded into the rocker panel and painted to match to eliminate the bolt on look. It looked fantastic.
Those rear ducts really take a beating from road crap .. rocks and sand .. and get pretty pitted over time, even on a garage queen. When mine get that way, I hit them with a little 220-grit sandpaper, then dress them with 303 or tire gel to make them look new again. Wouldn't be able to do that on a painted surface... Just something to consider.

:iagree: The ducts stick out far enough to be very effective in gathering air. Along with it, unfortunately, are stones, pebbles and road tar. A painted surface on this duct would get pitted in short order I fear. I, too, have seen them painted and they really are sharp looking, but consider Jerry's fine advice. :yesnod:

:iagree: I wouldn't do it for this reason alone. I only have about 7K miles on mine and the break ducts are already pretty shoddy looking. I think the little pits would look horrible and stand out even more if they were painted. JMHO. Best wishes.
