I have had CLEARTASTIC on my '04 since the first day I brought the car home. This product has been through RAIN and sunshire.
I have lost no peices. Correct installation is imperiative.

My only regret is not being able to protect the nose with CLEARTASTIC.

I understand what you are saying about the 3M that you are OK with seeing teh damage in the 3M and that it is not on your paint.....however I have yet to see anyone take off 3M that left the clear coat on it . At least not to the point I would be happy with.
Some people will never take it off but if you do expect to re-clear that section of the car.
Also the cost of the 3M installed will run you about $600 or so in this area
Not exactly true. I tried installing the bumper kit myself and had it on for five months. Since I wasn't happy with the results of my application, I had it removed and replaceed by a professional installer without any problems. The clear coat was still there and the film looks great even after a year after installation.

Well I had 3m on my previous car a Ferrari 328. On the way to a show at 35 mph a flattened soda can flew out from under the car in front of me and hit the bumper (painted) and flew over the car. Afraid to get out and check out the damage I saw the plastic damaged in three places. The next day at the dealer the 3m was removed and a chip the size of the head of a pin was left.
The paint was absolutly perfect. The bumper piece was replaced after touching up the chip :hurray: 3m film is absolutly removable. :steering:

The preparation is cake. Make sure you wash the car then wax or Zaino (or at least the areas you will place your kit.).
The directions are very specific, but easy to follow. But you have to read them.

One reason is to explain exactly where some pieces go. For instance there are no real distinctive lines behind the front wheel to use as a guide to set up a piece. We came up with a way that helps line everything up. If you wing it, chances are they won't fit right..
Not hard. Just need to follow the instructions.

When people say take your time, most are referring to making sure nothing is hanging over an edge (It mentions this in the instructions) .
I had someone swear up and down he installed them correct. He emailed me some pictures (I might still have them) Sure enough, one exploded view showed the bottom piece was overhanging and could have possibly came off. I pointed this out to him and his reply was
”I rushed the back, besides I didn t think that overhang was a big deal.". ..

Again, not hard. Just need to follow the instructions.

Ed
