I am currently in the market for a 2004 Z06 (finally) and I have a question regarding price on them. If you end up ordering one through a dealer, will they and/or can they still work on the MSRP price? Or is it the fact that you are ordering one, you have to pay MSRP on it. Also, if you order one, do they expect a deposit? I am a little weary about giving them any money until I see the actual car, make sure it's what I ordered, and can inspect it. Is there anything I should watch out for when ordering one? Any experiences would be appreciated.
It doesn't matter what car you order or get off the lot. All dealerships will negotiate the price. All except Saturn that is. Each dealership is different so you have to talk to them about deposits. My advice to you is to purchase your car through a forum dealership or broker. Check the C5's for sale section on the forum.
I got mine through Ken at the Vett Net. It was the easiest car buying experience I've ever had. We ended up getting my car out of state. I had it trucked to me by an enclosed carrier. Yes I had to pay for that but, even with the shipping my deal was cheaper than buying locally. Ken is the best and I will buy from him again! http://www.thevettenet.com/
bluestreak63 -- some colors are already out of production so you could not order them. In fact, the Z06 is supposed to go out of production in "early May" and the dealers may have already configured those cars...

I also got my car from Ken and got a good price. I ordered straight from the factory and had the car dropped shipped to a local dealer near me. I got a good deal and a great deal of satisfaction from Ken. I would recommend him to everyone also. He might be able to find a new Z06 for you that has the color and options you want that is still on the assembly line (there are only four options on the Z06). It is worth a try to call him.
Try one of the Forum dealers. Best prices and they have cars in stock. I called Rick Daniel @ Les Stanford on the Forum. Very easy and wonderful quick service. Rick even arranged shipping to me. :)
