Does titanium make for Z06 exhaust note?
Hi everybody,
Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but I've been wondering, to what extent do titanium mufflers cause the Z06 to sound the way it does? To phrase this differently, if the mufflers were made of, say, stainless steel instead, would it sound the same or at least very similar?

Very similar. I don't think the acoustic properties of titanium are really much (if any) different from steel.
Now, comparing something like iron/steel to aluminum, that can make a difference (hard/soft metals, whereas steel and titanium are both very hard).

i don't agree, titanium brings a different sound to exhaust... i have had numerous bikes and the ti systems always sounded better up top than carbon or ss cans. the particular mfg on our cars has a lot to do with sound but Ti has an exotic sound to it... IMO
