[Z06] Just got ROBBED tonight

Just got ROBBED tonight
As I was going into work, I work nights, I was filling up my new Z06 and low and behold. It was a guy that asked me for some change and after I told him that I didn't have any he said to give him my wallet and proceeded to take out a 9mm. Needless to say I gave him my wallet and he just walked away with my wallet. The funny thing is that I don't keep my cash in my wallet. I keep it in my other pocket. So he didn't get a dime. I already cancelled my credit and debit cards. Now I have to go get another license and start going to the shootng range again. I swear I don't understand people at all. Sorry, but I had to vent out alittle. :mad

It is indeed a crazy mixed up world, and, unfortunately a dangerous one. There are many people out there who don't have any respect for the rights of others or any sense of morality. I am glad that you were not wounded or worse...especially considering that individuals like the one who robbed you have little or no respect for human life.
Somebody was watching out for you and you can be glad that He was. Stuff can be replaced...you cannot!

Glad you're okay.
Just heard that one of my son's friends was shot in a robbery attempt when he got lost and pulled into a gas station/convenience store to check his map. Fortunately, the bullet didn't strike any vital organs and he's going to be okay.

Glad your ok, you did the right thing. Smart move with the money in the pocket. When working nights you need to take plenty of precautions, maybe try to limit the gas stations visits at night.

Glad you are OK - dying for your wallet is not the smartest thing - everything in there can be replaced.

At least you're OK. Glad that all he took was your wallet. You never think that something like this will happen.....Pretty scary.

wow thats crazy. yea your lucky he didn't take your corvette, which he easily could have. i think i would put up a fight for that one though

Not sure what FL's carry laws are, but the sucky part is that if you had a legal weapon, and took him down after he got your wallet, you would probably go to jail as the "imminent threat to your life" would have passed and the assailant would have been fleeing, if his gun was no longer pointed in your direction, when you were able to draw on him.
We just went CCW in Ohio about 3 months ago, and i have already read of this exact thing happening. The assailant's family is bringing civil charges against the person who was robbed at gunpoint and shot back-the assailant lived, but is apparently disabled.
it's a screwed up legal world out there, that's for sure.

That sucks but, how do you know it was a 9mm? Maybe it was a 40 cal or a 380.
I don't keep cash in my wallet either, something others might think about doing as well.
