I have used bfg drag radials as my sole tire. I ran them for about a year and then I switched over to 19/20 so I have them mounted for track use only. I have had them in the rain a few time and they scared me a little but not enough for me not to use them. Just have to be careful if it rains. Kaley
I have the Nitto 305/35/18 on mine. I could not believe how well they hooked, and this was on the street! Weather has kept me from hitting the track, but I hope to go this friday. I was caught in the rain on the interstate, and had no problems at 55-60 mph. We will have to see how they do with a little wear on them. Otherwise I don't drive in the rain. They fit perfect on the Z06 rim. I am not familiar with the BFG's, but I am really impressed with the nitto's. I went from spinning in the 1st 3 gears, to a short "chirp". Either way I think you will be impressed with the difference. Scott
Does anybody have any numbers as to the difference in ET and Speed when changing from the stock tires to the drag radials?
There are a lot of variables. But here is my experience.
On my car, the way I drive, BFGs improve my 60' about .15 seconds and then cut another .1 seconds from my ET in the 60'-1320' by producing less spin on the shifts to 2d, 3d, and 4th.
This improved hook on launch and the shifts will improve trap speeds by 0.5-1.0 mph.
With the DRs it's also easier to get consistent times, e.g. 80% of you runs on a given day within a tenth in ET and one mph in trap speed. That is hard to do on stock tires.
