mid america motorworks has a product in their new catalog called below 40 degrees that you add to your coolant and is supposed to reduce your coolant temp. is this a safe product to add to your coolant because in the heat when my car is idling or in traffic i can see he temp going up an if it is safe i would add it. has anyone used this thanx brad

Never heard of or used this product. I really haven't had any problems with the recommended DexCool, so I plan to stick with that. But if you live in an area like Arizona where it gets ungodly hot, it may be worth a look into this. I certainly would want to know if it is compatible with the coolant and cooling system pieces. Good luck.

Below 40 has been around for years, I can't verify it's potential because I've never used it. However, having used Water Wetter with good results, I would imagine that Below 40 with it's years on the shelf is a quality product as well. Is your temp running over 220? If it is, then seriously consider an aftermarket radiator, like Dewitts, or BeCool.
I put 1.5 bottles of WW in with new dexcool--did NOTHING for temp change--In fact identical temp readings in same ambient temps--waste of money--better off buying a 12 pack of brew--go sit in the garage and ask your vette if he wants to cool down--after the 12th beer let us know his response-
