I have accidently hit my rev limiter about 3 or 4 times. With the top off I can't hear the engine RPMs that well, I guess I need to invest in HUD. The sounds that I do hear around 6K sound very happy at that RPM. Unlike my 4.3 V6 that sounded stressed above 4K. What kind of internal components should be upgraded? Just the valve train?
Are there any insurrance companies that cover auto cross? I want to do it but I cannot afford to loose my car due to an accident without reimbursment. I can afford repairs, but not a loss.
It says damage is not covered if caused by "misuse of the vehicle such as driving over curbs, overloading, racing, or other competition." Note that the misuse must be the cause of the damage.
Read your insurance policy... I bet you will find simular wording....
With all the codes and info stored in the computer they can find out what's been going on. This car is built to take it. Just don't wreck it, if you do... get it towed off the track and push it into a ditch or some thing
Uhhh, Corvettes have a shift light in the dash, (and in the Heads-Up)
I have never been able to see the shift light in the Hud or dash in time to do any good - the instrument lag and rev speed of the LS6 overcomes them. I hit the rev limiter when I lose traction or get so psyched I forget to shift = 142-146 mph in 4th - I am shifting about 500 RPM below redline except in 4th....
I hit my rev limiter almost everytime I go to the track. I am not worried about it. GM put it there so we don't mess up the motors. That would have set it alot less rpm if it was dangerous for our cars. Kaley
