Default oops, oil overfill...is this a problem?

I had (by what I could tell) the oil level at the low mark on the dipstick so I added a quart of oil. Now it's about 1/4" over the top mark of the operational range on the dipstick...I'll have my oil changed in about 2 weeks, do I need to do something about this before then? Thanks for any advice.

The LS1 can handle one quart extra without any problems, GM even recommends it for those that road race their Corvettes. So you've got nothing to worry about.

Phew, thanks guys. ...and it's good to know that I can always start road racing if I regularly manage to put in too much oil

You should be OK. I have heard of forum members putting in 7 quarts even though it calls for 6.5.

I just did the Bondurant ZO6 high performance driving school, and they always run 7 3/4 quarts in their cars. These cars are run hard; high G's, etc. So a little extra won't hurt.
