Hello everyone , some questions about this oil consumption test they put me on...my cars a 2001 and is at 52 thousand km now....it has the extended warrenty but is still under the factory warrenty...i took my car in for the LOW OIL warning being displayed at 49 thousand km and they added 2 liters....and now at 52 thousand km i had to take it in again and they added in another 2 liters...is it consuming enough for them to have to replace my rings or is it about normal?? i know some C5s don't eat any oil at all but for the people who have had this problem and have gotten the rings replaced how much was their vette eatting and after how many km??
I think I would collect all the post and any other info you can find about the oil consumption issue and take it to the dealer and ask for it to be fixed. Also, if you have all records of preventive maintenance ie: oil changes, take all that with you.

I had the rings replaced in my car almost three years ago. At that time, mine was consuming a quart of oil every 1200 miles. GM's standards were anything more than a quart every 2000 miles was excessive. If my math is right, you have traveled 1864 miles and added a little more than 2 quarts of oil. So I would say you have a good case for the ring replacement.
