It is wrong to admire both Vettes as well as some of the better imports out there? I'm not talking about the exotic imports but some of the more run of the mill.
I believe that to truely appreciate Corvettes you must be an auto enthusiast first. And that means you probably like most any interesting, fast, well styled, etc. car! (Doesn't necessarily mean you want to own any of those, however.)
My wifes car -- and our everyday driver -- is a '98 528i. It's a nice car -- but it's certainly not the car I prefer driving!
We have 4 drivers in the family and 4 Chevys. (Suburban, Silverado, Blazer and my Vette). Last firrin car we owned was my son's Toyota, and we wised him up quick...

I agree. If you are a true auto enthusiast you will respect other makes and models on their merits. I love my Vette, but I also loved my RX-7 and have no complaints about my wife's FX35. There is nothing wrong with driving a Vette and showing respect or even admiration for other cars with class, whether it a Bimmmer or other nicely done car.
Like a previous post states. You have to be a car guy to truly appreciate the Vette. But it doesn't mean you have to be a snob. I like all the sport type cars out there. If it wasn't for the competition the Vette wouldn't look like it does. Believe me. The C5 has underpinnings of the RX-7 and a couple of other ricers, and some call them. They are all great cars to view and experience. But my choice has always been the Corvette, not only for looks and performance, but for bang for the buck. And that has always been a goal by GM for the Corvette. There's my .02
My second car is a Toyota Tundra pick-em-up. I bought it because I admire Toyotas ability to build a quality vehicle. I admire Porche, Ferrarri, Mercedes and many other quality vehicles but there is only one that I truely love and I'm drivin' it.
My family is all American just because those were our choices at the time. I really admire the entire BMW line, but have never owned one, I love the look of the 911, and I also love Custom cars. To me they are like Art and a reflection of the owner's choices, and objective for the car.
If I could get another spare car, 1970 El Dorado Vert, something the four of us could get into, actually ccould fit the parents , In laws and sevral cousins in that car LOL
Nope....not wrong at all...If I see a car and I like it...I buy it for that reason...not cuz of who makes it.. I have my Vette and I LOVE it... But also bought the Infiniti All Wheel Drive G35x and also have an Acura MDX. I am also a huge fan of the M3 and M5 as well as the SL500. As mentioned...Car enthusiast first
