Headlamp Issue Resolved
Well...
We need to replace the entire mechanism for the drivers headlamp. Seems the bar that raises/lowers the lamp somehow pops each time it goes up and down. Even a new motor did not cure it (thats number 2) and so it was deemed in need of complete replacement. The technician and I played with it on his bench for a hour and could not remedy it once out of the car. Maybe it got bent when the motor did not shut off and kept trying to close.
I gotta tell you though the most harassing issue on the whole repair was on the technician, not me and the multiple visits. Why ?? You cannot imagine how GM designed the top of the headlamp painted cover to attach. It takes multiple set screws, and adjustments, to align the lid properly in the alloted space, then additional adjustments necessary to properly seat the lid so as to not stick up in the front and rear. WOW !!
So I am perplexed .... do I give Chevy a hard time for multiple visits necessary and not repairing last week on Tuesday, or is it water under the bridge ??? The whole assembly took about 1.5 hours but based on the cost of this mechanism, I can see the reluctance in going this route.
