It makes me violently ill to see any convertible with the top down and the windows up. So much so that some friends of mine will get in my car and run the window up on the passenger side just to watch me have a fit.
50 degrees and the top down probably calls for heat on and windows rolled up. I don't think it looks bad at all especially if used with a convertible vette net windbreaker.
I hear everyone singing praises of the window valet. Silly question: which key fob button is used to activate the device and are there any drawbacks (i.e. malfunctions) to using it?

Doesn't look bad on a Mercedes or Bmer! Oh well, that's a whole nother arguement!
I want this cuz the windows sometimes cut into the top when I shut the door. Anyone know who sells them and what the best price is? And Does this work with the existing KEY Fob or am I going to have to add another piece of plastic to my crowded key chain??
"Under what circumstances do you want the top down, the windows up, and you are not even driving the car?"
When I park it and I'm not around it (like inside eating). I want the windows up and the car alarmed. Keeps people from reaching into the car - just my little quirk I guess. But I've had a window valet since they came out too.
later,
So let me get this right.
You pull in to eat, get out of car and put the top down? I could see going to eat with the top down the putting the windows up to go inside.
I have never driven the car with the top up and pulled in somewhere to eat and put the top down.
It's a safety feature. Try opening the hatch with the trunklid popped. That won't happen either. Get the "Top Down" window valet. It won't keep the windows from going down, but it sure makes it a lot easier to put them back up. You can put them back up with your key fob rather than getting back in and turning the ignition back on. Great invention and a definite on my mod list!

Press the lock button three times and the windows go up....press the unlock button three times and they go down. I've had my window valet for 3 years and never had a problem. There is nothing better on a hot summer day than dropping those windows from across the parking lot to let the hot air escape. Install and programming is a snap. The install takes about 2 seconds (literally) the initial programming takes about two to five minutes depending upon what other options you want to enable. I can't think of any drawbacks to using it. It slips onto your OBDII port under the steering column.
I like that the windows go down when Im putting the top down. I hate that they go down when I want to put the top up. Its a PITA getting back into the car when it's in the garage and the windows are up. I forget all the little problems and noises the car has when in whinding through the gears with the top down
I'm amazed that no one has pointed this out yet. What i do if i know I'm going to be putting the top up when i park is simply reach behind my shoulder and push the button to pop the cover while the car is still on. Once the cover is up, put the windows up. Turn the car off, get out, put the top up. No more having to turn the car back on to put the windows up.
I guess I deserve all the harrassment for not explaining myself. Without a doubt, if the top is down, the windows are down! No if ands or buts!!! What's the point of owning a convertible if the top is down and the windows are up?
The problem I have is when I park the car and need to put the top up for security reasons, the windows roll down, obviously. I then need to roll them back up. This is what prompted my question.
Thank you, all, for the recommendation of the Window Valet. I am assuming this product is an easy add-on (and I don't need to go to Chevy or a local stereo dealer to have it installed)?
You want the side glass down while putting the top up as others mentioned above for safety reasons. Also, this helps to prevent wear and damage to the weatherstripping and possible damage to the glass when putting the top up.

Personally, I wouldn't do this as the feature is there for several reasons. You want the side glass down while putting the top up as others mentioned above for safety reasons. Also, this helps to prevent wear and damage to the weatherstripping and possible damage to the glass when putting the top up. But, then if it's your car, you can do as you please.
