When I got back from the beach the other day I noticed the vinyl on the console where my right knee rests was abraded. It seems that the suntan lotion that was on my knee disolved the finish on the vinyl. So far the dealer refuses to cover the damage, but I'm not finished with them yet.
My vette is a CE Vert and I don't know if the problems is isolated to these interiors.
im sorry for the problem but how is it the dealerships fault to fix something you damaged?
If you poured bleach on your carpet would they have to replace your carpet?
Perhaps take it up with the suntan lotion company if they do not have warnings on it or maybe you wore it out with your knee and just now noticed it when you had to whipe off the suntan lotion ? hmmm

In any case, thanks for the HEADS up. I always tell myself to put lotion on when im in my Vert but I always forget cus I am so excited to just start driving. Maybe it was a good think I forgot, hope my skin is ok rather then the vinyl.

Go after the suntan lotion manufacturer if anybody.
I agree. The dealer can't warranty items such as that. If the vinyl failed because of a defect, then I could see a warranty claim, but in your case it is caused by owner.

How can you blame Chevy for you sloppin' suntan lotion all over the vinyl!!!
I'm surprised those guys at the dealership didn't laugh you off the lot

sorry man they will NOT cover that under warranty....hell i couldn't get them to cover warped pieces so no way will they cover that
I had my warped driverside A pillar replaced under warranty. Bumper to bumper means bumper to bumper no questions asked during the 3/36k major manufactors. Sounds like you got ripped off.
Tell the dealer, or a different dealer, the interior is fadding from normal use. You don't know anything about sun tan lotion, in fact you've never used the stuff, right? Big mouth.
You have no idea what could have caused this, right?
This must have been caused by normal sun exposure, solvent used to prep car, or perhaps it's been this way and your just noticing now.
I'll bet if you ask the dealer what could have caused this very unusual event, sun tan lotion won't be on their list.
