If customs wants to check your trunk - take the bags out yourself & throw a blanket over any painted body panels that they may come in contact with. A few years ago - they scratched the sh*t out of my car while taking bags out and digging in the trunk.

BTW - Have fun

I'm heading to Ontario the same day and I was told to get a "Yellow" card or "Canadian" card from my insurance agency. I called and they knew just what I was talking about.

Hey 82-Guy & mad99c5 , welcome to Canada eh?

NB is a great place to visit, things to see/do, the Bay of Fundy (the highest tides in the world), in Moncton, Magnetic hill, interesting the first time, in Fredericton, the Reversing Falls.

In Ontario, there's Niagara Falls, lots of stuff in Toronto like the CN tower, Ottawa is a very nice city and it's only 1 hour 45 minutes from Montreal, everyone loves Montreal!

Enjoy your visits, BTW, no radar detectors in Ontario or Quebec, not sure about NB, but Ontario uses the most advanced detector detector and they will take it away (for ever) and fine you.

I hope your trip to Canada goes better than mine just did. We had a great tour of Ontario through it's GM dealerships. Seems we it was time to replace a lot of parts on our Blazer. If you're ever in need of service in Kingston, Ontario, Jerome Taylor Chevy Olds is a top notch dealership. They had everything taken care of for us in just over an hour after our arrival late in the day.

Guess I should have taken the Vette.

I'd highly recommend loading up on some good Canadian Beer, or some of the Ice Wine.

Have a great safe trip, Eh.

I drove from Western NY through Ontario to pick up a new Z16 from Stanfords in Dearborn ,MI.I rode with my daughter and her fiance to Michigan, and drove the new vette home.It had a temporary MI paper license, taped to the interior of my rear window.I crossed 4 borders and was ID checked once. The only customs agent even to ask for ID or anything else was in Lewiston,NY.It was the last border I crossed. No one cared that there was no plate, let alone insurance.

Enjoy tour trip. I recently drove through Canada on my way to Alaska.

Beautiful country and friendly people.

My only advice is turn off your cellphone. My roaming and long distance charges were unbelievable...

Default Canadian trip

Don't know how old you folks are but remember if you are covered by Medicare,,,when you are out of the country you are not covered! Make arrangements with a supplemental insurance company just in case of a medical emergency. Have a great time!

Welcome to the Forum!

I recommend jumping off of I-95 in southern Maine and hugging the coast on Hwy 1 on your way up. Take a couple extra hours to run out through Arcadia NP and check out Bar Harbor. Great place to stop for the night.

Last year I caught some nasty paint chips in the northern part of Hwy 1 as they were repaving about 20 miles south of Madawaska, but that should all be done by now. That was June '03. And there are some nice twisties on that road as well, especially north of Acadia.

Have a good time. You won't regret it.

Michael

I would highly recommend the Caddilac Mountain Road in Acadia National Park, although it's usually clogged with slow moving tourists this time of year.
