i took my 98 vert to Terry's tire town in massillon
and had the alignment and 4 tires balanced done 2 weeks ago
when i picked it up the alignement was better but not perfect the wheel was off aobut 1/2 inch
and the car puilled left when i straightened it
i let it slide for a while causei thought it may just be the road
friday i had enoug hand i took it back in to have them realigne
i told them it was off and they agreed to redo it to make it right
i just went to pick it up and hte guy told me that he checked the alignemtn and it was fine so he just had his guy take the steering wheel off and straighten it wtf?
well none the less even with tthe steering wheel straight the car still pulls one way or the other
front tires are new
car has 35k on it no wrecks
no its not salvage
that should be all the background you need
i have an appointment set up with a chevy dealer tomorrow to have them look at the alignment but i feal like i got shafted at terrys
they charged me 70
the dealer wants 35 to check it and 80 if its off
Most new alignment machines have paper print outs of before and after specs.
Did you or can you get one?
If it is still pulling someting is off or bent.
This shop reads to be incapable, so I go to the dealer with the print out and if any changes are needed present it to the first shop for a refund...or live and learn and let it go.
Your car is perfect, it's the alignment guys. I have gone through a few alignment shops, before I found someone that can do it right. One time the alignment shop wanted to readjust the front because my steering wheel was at 2:00. While I was standing there I noticed the back was way out of alignment. It came loose during a autocross the day before. The front was fine. When I pointed that out to them they wanted to charge me again for a alignment. Went to another place. Hope you get it solved.
Steve
took it to the chevy dealer they redid the alignment and charged me 80$ its now perfect
i called terrys tire town and told them i tried 2 times to get it right with them and they couldnt
and told them my printout showed 2 of 4 wheels were out of spec
(terrys did an alignment about 1/2 mile before it went to the dealer)
before i finished the sentence the guy offered me my money back and said he was sorry for the inconvenience
i didnt have to go in he did it over the phone
so terrys made it right
but on the flip side dont take a vette to anywhere but a dealer to get the alignement done
