I was reading in one of the Vette brochures that they have an orange peel paint inspector on the line in Bowling Green. After looking at my 03 and several other C5s I was tempted to call them liars. It came to me like a flash, the inspectors is there to make sure there is plenty of orange peel in the finish, not to reject those with orange peel. If it does not ripple enough it goes back for anoter coat.

If there actually is an 'Orange Peel Inspector' then you have to be correct. He must be making sure they ALL come off that line with very noticeable orange peel becasue they ALL DO

Must be pretty good at his job too, as I have never seen one without it yet, unless it was repainted.
You guys are brutal!!! But I agree. They must be making sure there is sufficiant OP to pass the Zora Arkus Duntov awards. They actually count the bumps in the OP to see if it's factory correct. If not you can't win a ZAD award.
