Default Lost wheel lock key

Hi Gang

To get a new lock key for your stock wheel locks on a 99 Corvette, do you have to give the vin # to a Chevy dealer? Or does some one on here happen to have a set of lug nuts, with the key, they want to sell?

Also does any one happen to know of a way to get the wiring harness for the stock fog lights, I have the lights, and the switch installed. Or does any one know of a site that I might be able to get the wiring diagram from? Any help appreciated..

Take care...........Gunny

The locks are not related to the VIN. You should have a card that contains the serial for your wheel locks and you can order a new key. The dealer would probably have a universal key, and if I'm not mistaken the locks can be forced off somehow, but will be rendered unusable.

discount got mine of with vice grips, but that was about 6 or 7 years ago on a ford probe without chrome wheels.

There should have been a Mcguard card in your owners manual with the key # on it. If you lost it the dealer may have a universal key or should be able to help you out.

If your car did not come with the fog light option, you may not have the harness installed. You can NOT just buy the fog light harness as I have tried to do with my ZO6! I am going to make one and wire it into my under the hood electrical center!

You need the serial number from the card that's possibly in the wallet that has your owner's manual. No one reads the manual so my first guess is that's where the key number is too. That's assuming that the key is not hiding in the rear compartment. Failing that, tyre-places often have master keys. If that doesn't work, an under-sized socket or similar tools. Or you can often buy what you need on the internet. (Hint: The World's Online Marketplace)

Just go down to your local dealer. They can find the lock that will match. When i bought mine, the wheel lock key was missing. I went back a few days later,,,,They had a box full of locks...Kept trying them till they found the right one......They can find it for you....

Or you could get some Awesome PIAA 1100x Driving lights that come with their own harness and throw an incredibly good light . They mount right up to the stock brackets and tap right to the Vette electrical system. work right off the stock switch. I Love mine
