Someone told me a while ago when I first purchased my FRC that I could completely take my roof off. I didn't believe when they told me this and I still don't think I believe it because I have never heard of it before..
Doesn't it cost around $12,000, to make a FRC a 'Vert?
I don't know. There's a local gent here in TN that can make an FRC into a Targa-FRC (FRC silhouette with removable panel) for the cost of a targa panel, latch brackets, weatherstrip, paint, and a wee bit o' labor.
GM only charges a $6K premium for a 'Vert over a Coupe, so I hope a conversion isn't $12K.
Anyway, you have a low-production '99 FRC...I'd vote if you really need open air, sell that one and buy a car that came off the line as a drop-top.

There was a vendor at both the cruise in and Bloomington that was marketing a conversion kit for coupes and FRCs that would change them to a convertible. Nice looking kit and the price was around $10K.
