Default Stingers Installed

Last night I installed the 2 tip stingers. Did it in the driveway by myself with 2 jacks and some wood. Install went great without any problems. I took my time to be sure I didn't make any mistakes, and it took 2.5 hrs. Most of the time was spent getting the car in the air safely. Not as difficult as it seems to get the rear up 36 inches, and it was exactly 36 inches up before the stock exhaust came off. I love the song of the stingers, but it's not as loud as I was expecting. Some say the tone will change after a few hundres miles, is this true? Either way, I'm very happy with them and I highly recommend them to anyone sitting on the fence. Thanks to everyone who offered advise on the install over the last week.

Well, I have had mine on for about two years now and it does SEEM as if they are a bit louder, but I'm not really sure! I also have a Bassani X-pipe and still love the combination.

I got them shipped new from ebay for $575. They are definately louder than stock, but not too loud to upset the neighbors if I drive in late at night. Idle is a bit louder, cruising in 6th is not nuch different than stock, and WOT sings. Now it sounds like a Corvette should. If anyone is looking for a more agressive sound, but not too much, the stingers are for you.

Congrats!! You'll love the stingers. I never understood why everyone claimed they were so loud, I thought they were fairly reserved compared to some of the online descriptions I had read. I dont think the tone changed much on mine, maybe the bad smell went away, but thats about it.

Thanks for the post. I am trying to decide which set to get, and I think this might be exactly what I'm looking for. You mentioned you got it on Ebay. Who was the seller? Did everything turn out as expected? What was your total price, including shipping? Did you bid, or use the buy it now feature? Thanks in advance for the info.

I bought them from CorvetteMike. I paid with the buy it now feature, shipping included for $575. Would recommend CorvetteMike. Very easy to contact and pay. Shipping was fast. Very professional. Go for it, you'll love them.

Can't beat the Stingers. Just the right sound without overdoing it.

Welcome to the Stinger club. Some of us even have Stingers front and back! I bought mine during a GP for $550 (4-tip) and 2-tip Stingers were going for $450. Ah, those were the days!

Thanks for the 411. I'm assuming you bid for it, versus buy it now? Significant savings, might be worth waiting for the right auction, I know on Ebay timing is everything.

They definitely get louder. Got mine used and thought they were kinda reserved but in the last 100 miles they have really come to life. Idle was barely noticeable before but now she rumbles to life like a trooper. After talking with the previous owner we figured it happened around 1200 miles.

It is very interesting you guys talking about the differences in loudness. My stingers were pretty loud compared to others that have stingers that I have seen in real life. I wonder if my cats are burnt out or somthing? Hmm...
