Can the larger Fram PH5 oil filter be used as an alternate for a 2002 Vette?

Check out compatibility in the Fram filter book, at a local parts store?

DON't buy a Fram ... they are crap filters.
Best filter is the AC Delco UPF44 and even though short, flows better than many long ones and filters well too

Sorry but I have to disagree on the flow of the UPF Delco filter. While it does a great job of filtering it seems to be fairly restrictive on flow. Take a look at:

http://www.oilfilterstudy.com/ac-upf1218.htm

My personal experience has seemed to agree with this study. At the urging of people over at http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ I switched first to the K&N then the Baldwin filter.

I know the Delco advertising shows the UPF to show superior flow but I don't buy it. Take a look at the flow rates in this independent test.
http://www.oilfilterstudy.com/Grease...er%20Study.xls

The UPF filter flowed only 4 ozs. while other filters flowed 3 to 4 times that amount.

I only use Mobil 1 filters. They are good filters as well. I don't do Fram. Mobil filters available at AutoZone.
