Default Ordered the Vinci programmer, question about torque management

I was talking to Joe at Vinci and he was explaining all the capabilities that the Vinci Programmer can do. He said something about torque management and that this programmer can reduce or eliminate torque management. Can someone explain to me what that means? As long as I've been a member here, I've never heard the term "torque management" before. Is there something I'll have to do with the programmer to eliminate this or will it do it automatically? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It should be here in a few days and I want to know exactly what I'm doing when I get it. :*****

On the center console of your Z06 there is a button, that if pushed and held will put the car in Competition Mode. Without pushing and holding this button, the car's computer will use brake engagement, spark and fuel management to eliminate or greatly reduce wheel spin and dangerous cornering maneuvers.

By putting your Z06 in Competition mode, which I do every time I start my car, you turn off the computer's intervention. In effect, you will be turning off torque management.

The Vinci Programmer has great capability, but use it for its other features and not this.

Putting the car in competition mode turns off traction control but
leaves active handling on.

Tourque management is the management of torque by the PCM
to keep the torque withen the rated limits of the 4 speed
automatic since the engine can exceed the rating of the
transmission. This is why the 6 speed is rated at 375 ft lbs of torque
and the automatic us rated at 350 (if my memory is correct).

Torque management is totally unrelated to traction control and active handling. TQ management is an algorithm in the PCM used to prevent drivetrain damage and abuse and turning off TC/AH does not disable TQ management

Handheld programmers are usually nothing more than an expensive way to turn on your fans and disable CAGS & TQ management. I would expect the Vinci to be the same. Do not expect a power gain and you will be happy will your purchase. Watch the OBDII data stream closely for spark knock after using this device.

i've been working with VHP on their programmer project. they asked me to come over here and post up and answer any questions you might have about it. went to the track last sunday july 18th. here are the results from it. yes i know my car isn't a vette. but still a LS1 either way.

all stock + cutout open
60ft - 2.073
1/8 - 8.833 @ 82.55
1/4 - 13.636 @ 101.58

above + performance/stock cam program,+10% timing, shift firmness, shift enhancement
60ft - 2.041
1/8 - 8.697 @ 83.51
1/4 - 13.431 @ 102.90

i tried others like the stock cam/supercharged and the CAM #1 just for giggles. i gained a .1et/.5mph over stock from the CAM #1. for the supercharged one .05et/.3mph. remember the only thing i have added are the SLP airlid and cutout.

here's a tutorial i made up for vinci http://www.stealthram.com/vhptuner.htm
