Default service column lock?????

I just got that message today and a couple of times over the past few weeks I have been getting "charging system failure" warnings on the info screen on the dash. Also it seems that I'm loosing power(electrical) while I'm driveing my dash lights dim then come back my V1 resets the memory seats aren't always working and the page of the HUD is changed when I start the car up. The car seems to be running just fine even with the lights diming it still keeps running so I'm completely lost as to what to do now. any help would be appreciated(sp?) thanks in advance

I hope I'm wrong but it sounds like you may have battery acid leaking into the computer module (BCM?).

Are you still using the stock battery? If so check for leaks as this is a common problem in pre AGM (2000 and older) C5s.

Sounds like poorly connected cables (hopefully!) or maybe your alternator is starting to go. Just happened to me in my backup car. I replaced the battery first just to cover that possibility, but that didn't really help for very long. Three days later, the alternator went completely.

Low system voltage (weak battery/poor connections/dying alternator) seems to cause all sorts of nuisance warnings and issues in the C5. Check the battery, cables and alternator first.

I get this message at least once a week since I've had the Vette (almost 2 years, from 3K-26K) . My Vette has had several electrical problems. GM and the dealers have no clue about this message.

I also had the Column lock about 2 months ago, but no message for that .

Good Luck

Yes, I keep driving it(it is my daily driver) till It throws a code. Then I take it back to the dealer.
Usually the codes are communication or electrical related. The problem with the "Charge System Fault" message is the computer does not keep it.
The Battery & alternator have been replaced as well as several wiring harnesses.
