I've seen alot of intake systems like the Vortex, Stinger, TRAPS, K&N etc., and all of them seem to advertise more HP and better airflow than the next guy.
Aside from super/turbo charging, which of these systems is the biggest bang, for the biggest buck?
Am I better off moving up the intake piece by piece, or would a complete system like the Vortex w/MAF be a better choice?
HP is the goal, but extending the life of the car is just as important. This is kinda my starter project on the C5 and wouldn't mind doing it right the first time , even if it meant a couple extra bucks.
I was going to do the Vararam, but the tuner I'm going to use showed me pictures of sand and grit ingested by one that he uninstalled. The maf was covered in debris. So now I'm between the Blackwing, which may or may not be in production anymore, or Halltech Stinger, or Trap which adds cold air. I will probably do the Stinger, although I've read about some hood closure problems, and do a Z06 grill for fresh air. And so it goes with these decisions, the more I learn, the less I know.
