Default 2004 speedo brighter on one side, normal?

2004 Z06. At night I notice the cluster is darker in the center. Higher speeds, toward the right of the cluster are brighter. Same with the Tac, darker toward the center of the cluster. Is this just characteristic or should I take in.

Haven't noticed what you are referring to. I'll have to pay it more attention tonight.

Michrider -

I've noticed this as well. Took a double take at first and then just forgot about it. Like I said in a previous post on another topic, I've noticed quite a few quirky issues with the Z. Once I hit WOT, I can't remember what I was thinking about.

Yup, same here. Noticed it first time I drove at night, then I got used to it. Haven't thought about it since - until now.

Thanks for the replies, sounds like it is just characteristic. Much better news than having to suffer through a dealer taking it apart. The cluster engineer should be slapped upside the head for not getting the lighting even. Probably the same engineer that released the collumn lock system. It's an awesome car, but some of the details were blundered. Maybe the higher speed numbers are brighter for better viewing at high speed. Or, the engineer is incompetent and forgot to validate in a dark room.
