Default Too rice?

Ok, I know that alot of you are really good about what looks rice and what doesn't. I'm more of a subtle kind of guy by nature, but I have a confession. I like carbon fiber. I may have taken it a bit too far. I've shown my car letely and have had mixed remarks about the engine dress up I have done. I would really like some feed back. I know alot of you say "it doesn't matter what we like, it's what you like" but I would really like your comments. Ok, lay it on me:

From the pics, it doesn't look rice to me at all. I think it looks
Do you have any better pictures zooming in on the engine? This might help form a better opinion?

I think the carbon fiber dress up kit looks amazing, and so does everyone i know. I would have never thought rice about that item. maybe if the covers said "civic type R", then that would be a different story.

Default I'm Sensitive To Rice

Being very sensitive to rice like, infact, I often find many more rice characteristics then most of us, especially body kits, spoilers, lights, black outs...

I don't find what you have done to be "rice"

It's not ornate or overdone. It doesen't include decals, it doesen't make silly sounds or lights, and it can't even be seen crusing the avenue by rice etts.

Looks great to me and yes do what you like anyway. There are plenty forum members who are torn with rice like stuff. Atleast they bought the right car while they settle their inner conflict.

Those ironing board rear spoilers, no that's another matter.

Haven't been able to see your pictures yet, but generally the carbon fiber looks good on the car. When you post some pics, the comments will flow in.

since CF was first used on super high dollar exotics, why would it be considered rice ??? Now a 10 foot rear wing that looks my lawnmowers handle ..... that WOULD be considered rice ! ( ok , accept maybe a 69 Dodge SuperBee)

But Tommy, if we don't pick on you who can we pick on??? I like the CF treatment, except for where it has rubbed the hood liner. If you get tired of it on your car I'll park closer to you next time so you don't have to carry them too far to install on my car. There, how's that for a deal?

Heres my take.... Carbon Fiber has a race born existence as it is a light material which is used in racing cars etc......... It becomes rice when it is put on a beat ole Civic with a fart can because it doesnt need to be there and the car IMO isnt of the caliber to wear something that insinuates speed or style........ A Corvette is a different animal as it is a tried a true icon of American SPORTS Cars........ It can pull off wearing Carbon Fiber and was obviously integrated in the 04 Z06'S......

Rock on

Shawn
