Default CLB install throwing codes. HELP!

I have an '04 MN6 C5 and thought that I'd get ahead of the potential problem. The adapter didn't work so I just used the key to disengage the lock. When I reassembled things I got the code. Any help?

The reason the adapter is used is to "fool" the computer into thinking the lock is still engaged when, in fact, it isn't. It "sneaks" the lock open when the PCM is in passive monitoring with the key out of the ignition. That's when the bypass is slipped into the circuit, restoring the locked signal even though the column is no longer locked. By using the key, you've allowed the computer to see through the bypass's false locked signal when the ignition is off, thereby setting the code when you start the car.

Try resetting the DIC to see if the code goes away. If not, I'd uninstall the bypass and try it again. If your adapter isn't working, contact the vendor and have them send a replacement.

Check and make sure your cigarette lighter is working properly (no blown fuses), that may be why the adapter didnt work.

Also, make sure the fuse in the ligher plug that came with the bypass is good. I've seen them go bad between shipping and receiving of the bypass kit.

Patches probably has it all solved for you.

It will work, I just did my '04.

The key is to just follow the directions

Jon wrote back already too. Great service! I pulled fuse # 25 and will check the unlocker as I wait 20 minutes for the BCM to forget what I did. I'll post again in a little while. Thanks everyone!

I had to go get a 1A fuse just last night because that little hair thin wire was toasted...

And once again I prove to the forum that I am an idiot. Turns out that the tiny fuse in the unlocker was toasted. I pulled fuse #25 and retried it the way the instructions said to. Viola! It works! Or should I say the CL doesn't? Thanks to everyone who helped and especially to Bob Williams who gave this to me for nothing when he had his lock removed on his A4.

I just installed mine. No codes so far, so I hope I did it right. Good luck getting yours reset.

Now that the dash is apart, it is time to do the Patches exhaust cut out mod.

I just saw that on another thread, with Video. Now that is a thing of beauty

You did a heck of a great job on that, I wish I had seen it before I went with an aftermarket exhuast
