I'm sure someone can help me with this. I'm reprogramming my tire sensors. I go thru the whole routine, and each sensor accepts the programming. But each time, the left rear sensor comes up blank. How do you correctly exit the program so that it "saves" the left rear? I've tried turning off the key, etc. but its still blank..... HELP.
Thanks for the replies. However, I'm still not clear on this. All the replies are correct, by the way. It's just that the left rear isn't working. The horn sounds, etc. All the other sensors are reporting pressure. After the horn sounds, do you just turn the key off, or back out of the DIC? Or what? Or, is JRose correct in that the battery is weak? By the way, thanks for all the help.

The following from the C5 Tech Tips section of the Forum reads very much the same as the procedure in my '03 GM Service Manual: Programming TPM Sensors
After the horn sounds on the 4th sensor, programming for all sensors should be complete and you can either back out of (exit) the DIC or turn the ignition off. JRose may very well be correct in that the battery may be weak. I believe I read somewhere that the expected battery life is around 5 years and according to my Service Manual, "These batteries are not serviceable and require sensor replacement if low." However, I remember reading here on the Forum of a person/place that can refurbish or replace the sensor batteries, but off hand I don't remember the name. Perhaps someone else will chime in with a name, or if you're lucky, you might find it using the Forum search feature.
The tire pressure sensors transmit an RF signal to the the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver where the data is translated. Then the data is passed on through a class 2 serial data circuit to the DIC. So, a communications fault some where in this system could be a possible cause of your problem too.
