I'm taking my new C5 to my home town this morning. This will be a 500 mile weekend for me. Get to show it to lots of family and friends. Weather is a little questionable, but I bought it to drive it!!

One of the unbelievable traits of the Corvette is its ability to make you actually want to go out for a drive. This urge includes but is not limited to cleaning her up, taking the top off/down, getting you honey (or your wife ), planning a long drive with long stretches of winding roads, tree-lined, coupled with area's dense with people (I think this is the ego part) and slow "cruising). Living on Long Island, we have all this and more and my drives usually culminate in a long look at the ocean and if my timing is right a Sunset.
What other car in the world can boast this aura. So plan a drive, grab your babe (or hunk -- want to keep this PC) and go for it.
Made it down here OK, now back home today. Still breaking in, so only 55 MPH all the way here--part way home today I will hit 500 miles and start opening things up a bit. What a great day yesterday showing the car to friends and family--they are all amazed.
Drive it! I've taken 1000 mile trips and can tell you that the car is very comfortable. Just stay away from behind big trucks and what thier tires throw. Everytime I came up to a big truck it gave me the excuse to speed up ( alot ) and pass them.
Got back home without a chip. Drove 400 miles on interstate this weekend--I now have 560 miles in her. All we can say is--what a comfortable ride. The seats are great!! I also have F55 Mag Ride which I will always have on any future Vette. AND the Corsa Indys are so quiet "on the road"--ya can't hear 'em on the highway.
I did my first long trip from Wahington to California. Was guided by a Garmin 2610 GPS. Did 1857.3 miles, average speed of 57.8, peak speed of 94.7. Sure was fun driving! My wife keep wanting to stop to shop/check the view. I just wanted to keep going. Went down I5, drove to Tahoe, then the Redwoods, then cam back the coast roads. Some really great driving. I was also amazed that I got about 26 mpg, which included real higway drving and many 2 lane roads through the moutain ranges.
