Default Deep '04 C5 discounts tempting...

Seeing offers of up to $13K off msrp on remaining '04's. Sure is tempting... recently paid off house and have six figure equity available. I've always said its better to buy pre-owned and get a better deal, but damn a brand new Vette, one that no one else has ever flogged, ever curb scuffed, ever farted in... well, just damn. That would be a dream to get a brand new one

Triple black MN6 baaaaabyyyyyy!!!! Damn. I gotta snap out of it! What am I thinking? C'mon, you're so tight you squeak walking. Forget it. Be sensible...

With no house payment, that much equity, and the discounts, I would be running down to get an '04. Like was said, you only live once.

Come on, go for it. Get two, one for the week and one for the week-end. Seriously, never have the prices been this good and probibly never will again. What an opportunity but strike quick because the quantity and choices are dropping day to day. Good luck

You won't see deals like this again for a long time. At least until the C7 comes out. Do it!

Default Just do it!

I just bought an 04 and got a great deal. See my post earlier today. You only live once and the discounted price of the 04 versus a really nice low mileage newer C5 is not going to be that huge in the grand scheme of things. At the end of the day you have to be comfortable with the decision.

Someone compared my being a tightwad to bark on a tree in another post. Point being, I feel the same as you when it comes to my $$. I did in fact go with the used market and picked up a 2001 nicely loaded blk/blk coupe, 6-spd for $27.5 with new meat all around. Do I regret it, no. BUT being that you and I are probably on the same thought path, let me just tell you that if you haven't been looking long in the used market, you are in for a treat. It took 4-months to get the guy to come down to my price on the vehicle. You don't have that much time. The people selling the used ones are PROUD of their car. There is even a small chance that after tomorrow (Monday) you won't have the opportunity to get one as cheap as they are right now. They may revert the rebates back down to $3k. I doubt it but you never know. The time to decide is NOW! Or, roll the dice and see what Tuesday brings.

If I could find a dealer willing to take my 03 on trade for a Machine Silver ZO6 I would do it !! Guess I will wait for a few years & get the C6. I'm leaning towards mods now !

You would be buying an exceptional car at an exceptional value ... that sounds sensible to me. Besides, had you been buying a used '03 vette 10 months ago, you would have paid basically the same price as a new '04 vette with the current discounts. The only difference is one comes sans le fart, lol.
