Haven't used the Ventmaster. As far as the console covers, the best would be one from Vette Essentials. Other than that, you can get one from Mid-America or a number of other vendors.

Thank you for the reply. I will try Vette Essentials. I never heard their name before. I do know the ones offered in Mid America or Ecklers but I wanted something protective without putting on a new piece. I know it is easy to do but a tight glove like material would be even better.

Regards,
Steve

I have a MA console piece and it fits tight as a glove. Took all of 15 minutes to install. I am sure Vette Essentials is a better product for more $ but I can live with the MA piece for now.

Did you get the MA #636-501 or 500 or 503?

Thank You

Have you heard of the Gadgetman from Canada? I understand he makes a very secure rear Vent clip. I still would like to know if they are truly effective.

Thanks Again

I have the Corvettegadgetman rear hatch vent clips and can say I'm extremely satisfied with them. They attach securely to the rear hatch, don't flop around or spring off at you when the hatch is unlatched, and cost half what the other inferior products out there do.

Insofar as the effects of buffeting go, the car used to become unbearable around 45 mph with the roof off, but with the Corvettegadgetman vent clips installed, buffeting doesn't become objectionable until 80 mph. Quite a significant difference, I'd say, and the hatch doesn't flutter or rattle.

The only downside to raising the hatch, and this is true irregardless of the product you use, is that you will see and feel a bit more cowl and body shake. I guess that rear hatch contributes more to body rigidity than one would suspect.

To Wolfmanjohn,

Thank you for the reply. Their product looks like it is very well made. I will get in contact with their website. Since you are listed as a senior member I have an important inquiry: Special LS1 mechanic/tuners have stated that the best item to add is a better breathing intake. The two items that stand out ie, the best investment is the Vortex Rammer, second would be the Vara Ram Air Induction Kit.

True?
