No. The long tube headers extend to where the original cats fit and the original cats are one part with the down tubes. The long tube headers are further apart at their exit than the stock pipes so they need offset pipes that bring the two closer together.

That makes sense. Is the proper name for this "offset pipe" just that? Or do vendors sell it by another name? And does the offset pipe bring the exhaust interface to exactly where the cat-backs originally attached?

One way is to use an off road x-pipe welded to your collectors. You'd eliminate your cats and have to run O2 simms connected to the rear sensor connectors. You could also get a set of hi-flo cats, like Randoms or something similar, and have a shop weld them to the collectors and fab up connectors to connect to your h-pipe. No simms required with that setup. Or you could go with a downstream x-pipe like the Magnaflow, Borla or Corsa with the custom fabbed center section.

Check out Vince's website illustrating his TPIS install. It shows the off-road x-pipe setup. Very nice installation.

Good info. I was kind of wondering the same thing myself, but when I looked up under the car I saw that the stock cats are way up front - would not allow them to remain there and hook up to the headers.

Yes, my long tube headers are bolted up to the cats (required welding of a flange supplied by LPE), and if I didn't have the Borla XR1 there, the stock H-pipe could have remained in place.

i was just gonna tkae the stock h pipe down to the muffler shop and have them cut and weld it for me

Mine came from LPE, the muffler shop would probably have one or be able to get one.
